If you haven’t stayed, you should. ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Owner Pat was AWESOME AND SWEET. House was very clean, inviting, welcoming, felt like being at home. We had to leave super early for a volleyball tournament and wasn’t going to be there for breakfast. Miss Pat was generous enough to leave us some homemade banana bread and some juice and water so we could have something. It was just a great place to stay and we will most certainly be going back to get the full experience. Hats off to this family for opening up their home and making you feel so welcomed. I highly recommend this property.
- It rained and that prevented us from enjoying sitting out on the patio to enjoy the view and the horses.

I loved having a wonderful view of the sunrise and the horses in the field. The room was warm and cozy (in a cold March), and the breakfasts were lovely. We enjoyed talking to our hosts immensely, which was an added, unexpected bonus to a wonderful weekend. We’re planning on returning and booking a horse ride or two.
Patrick March 2019
I absolutely loved the property!! Miss Pat and her husband are good people and I would recommend this property to everyone looking for off the beaten path in the country place to stay. Their horses are beautiful and I think I saw 80 white tailed deer.
Brad October 2018
Owners were absolutely fantastic and hospitable. My wife and I got married here this past weekend and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful place. Will recommend to anyone I know.
Donna August 2018
Our first stay at a B&B and we couldn’t have asked for a better place. Our room was so comfortable with a spectacular view, the food was excellent and the owners treated us like family. I was nervous trying this out and pray all the other B&B’s give us what we got here! Thank you both
Nicole July 2018
What a wonderful place!! The whole house is Very clean and very beautiful!! We had a wonderful stay in the Orchid Suite!! Pat is very friendly and keeps the house looking amazing! Breakfast was great also! We will be going back for sure.

It’s been a week since we have left Sweetspire Ranch and all we have talked about since being home is our next trip back to visit Pat and Hearsel. Tucked away roughly 20 minutes from downtown, the drive is well worth the commute. This place is relaxing and simply gorgeous. The accommodations are nice but it’s the hospitality that makes Sweetspire Ranch special. From the moment you arrive, Pat and Hearsel make you feel like part of the family. They are kind, helpful, great story tellers, and Pat makes a mean breakfast casserole! Thanks for everything and see you two soon.
Kevin July 2018
The Sweetspire ranch was definitely sweet! We really the enjoyed the quiet countryside setting! Pat prepared a wonderful breakfast and we would definitely recommend this BnB ! 5 stars!!
Pat our host was super inviting, she made us feel comfortable right away.. We loved the tranquility of the location, visiting with the horses and barn cat was a bonus. We would definitely stay there again.
Our stay came after a long week of meetings. Sweetspire ranch was an oasis. Pat, the owner, is gracious and does her best to make stay comfortable. The setting of open space and landscaped areas is tranquil and calming. We ate our breakfast outside on the patio.

Hubby and I came from Calif. to visit family and friends and attend granddaughter’s H.S. Grad. We have stayed at several B&B’s across the country and this definitely was the best! We stayed in the Magnolia Suite which was perfect for our needs – Pat and Hearsel are true to the image of midwest hospitality & the breakfast was very tasty (and Pat went above board to accommodate my vegan needs!) But the best part was the beautiful horsefarm and wooded setting! Being a transplant from NJ to the high desert of SE Calif., I really miss the woods, grass, birds, and rain! Just sitting on the porch and hearing the birdsongs and watching the “lightning bugs” in the evening does amazing things to totally de-stress! I highly recommend this location and we hope to come back!!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! We stayed 4 nights in this beautiful and spacious home that Pat and her husband graciously open up for their bed and breakfast. The property is just gorgeous both inside and out providing guests with a peaceful, tranquil stay. The horses on the ranch and the views on the property are truly breathtaking and a reminder of the natural beauty in this world. The landscaping is beautifully done as well. Pat provides a hearty breakfast daily and tends to every detail. You do NOT want to miss breakfast! It’s home-cooked heaven! During our stay there were other guests on a couple of nights and Pat still never missed a beat. Plenty of space to still feel like you’re on an intimate getaway. Pat is warm and welcoming and Hershel and Molly add to the great experience. Highly recommend Sweetspire Ranch, a perfect home away from home close to sightseeing and the city of Cincinnati but in the heart of the country. Our first choice for all our KY trips in the future!

Sweetspire Ranch lived up to my expectations. From our arrival to when we left I felt like I was family not a guest. Our room was cute and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was different every day and absolutely delicious. As a lifetime horse lover the view of the barn, pastures, and horses was sheer heaven. In the evenings the fields looked like they had twinkling lights with all the fireflies. Pat and Hershel are the perfect hosts and I loved that Pat joined us for breakfast one morning trading horse stories. And the trail ride was amazing. Hershel spent some time with us to determine our experience level and explaining how to ride his horses so we would have the best ride and it was!!!! If your ever in The Cincinnati Ohio area this is the place to stay!

I cannot say enough good things about Sweetspire Ranch and our hosts Pat and Hearsel. From the minute we arrived I felt at home in the beautiful and peaceful setting. Our room, the Rose Room, was perfect for us. The shower great with plenty of hot water. The breakfasts that Pat serves up every morning are delicious and you can eat on the patios overlooking a little bit of heaven. I love horses so it didn’t hurt that we had some beauties to look at and we did arrange to take a trail ride which was a highlight of our trip. It was hard to leave and I felt like I was ending a visit with two friends . I definitely would recommend staying at this amazing B&B and would love to return one day.
Pam May 2018
This was THE most peaceful and beautiful place we have ever stayed. Our host, Pat, was beyond accommodating with the crazy schedule we had. We will definitely be back…probably next year at the same time.
Michelle April 2018
The most peaceful place to stay. Pat made a wonderful breakfast. The room was 100% better than any hotel room. Will definitely stay here again.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful b&b two weekends ago. We really felt welcomed and very comfortable! We enjoyed walking around your beautiful property and had fun petting the horses. Breakfast was delicious each morning and it was fun being able to choose and watch movies from your extensive collection! We really appreciated your hospitality and kindness and for letting our soccer mom and daughter stay one night as well. Being able to use the washer and dryer to clean the girls’ uniforms SUPER nice too. Thanks so much for that. It was a pleasure meeting your son and we enjoyed chatting with you and your husband. We would love to come back for another stay someday.
Krystal April 2018
My husband I just wanted to get away for some rest. And this ranch was beautiful. The wildlife deer, hawks and horses. Our hosts were very accommodating. We had to arrive late on the 1st day due to a family funeral. They were very understanding. Breakfast was delicious and not served early, so we were able to sleep in. Lots of land to hike on and we plan on going back to fish in their 3 ponds. Just a little too cold this time. Greg and I want to thank them for a wonderful weekend getaway.
Julie March 2018
Pat was an amazing host. She and her husband were very kind and accommodating to my husband, daughter, and me. The scenery around their home was breathtaking. There were so many deer that we lost count! We visited the horses and enjoyed their personalities, wish we would have had more time and better weather to have gotten a ride in. We especially enjoyed the breakfast that was deliciously prepared by Pat. The other visitors were pleasant and we enjoyed meeting them, too. My favorite moment was when Pat made warm, chocolate chip cookies and brought them to our room. That gesture made me feel very welcomed in her home. Oh, and the home was absolutely beautiful. I enjoyed utilizing the library in the middle of the night. Read an interesting, sad book about American Indians of the West. The Keurig and amenities were comforting and also much appreciated. Last thing, our bed…. It was the most comfortable bed we ever slept in! It had a heated mattress pad, lots of pillows, a plush comforter… We wanted to buy it! Lol. Thanks for everything, Pat! Including being kind to our daughter who may have been too young for the trip.

Bud and I, being inn owners ourselves, love to visit other B&Bs while traveling……well, this was a quick decision, Thanksgiving weekend and Pat’s birthday, we called at the very last minute due to terrible traffic and got lucky. And Herschel and Pat welcomed us into their beautiful B&B — beautiful ranch land, oversized rooms, spotless and great hosts. It’s fun to learn all about……lots to do in the area, too. I wouldn’t pass this gem up.!!
Nanci October 2017
My Husband & I spent 5 nights in the Magnolia Suite in late October & thoroughly enjoyed every minute we were there. Sweetspire Ranch is secluded & quiet with beautiful views, abundant wildlife & very wonderful hosts. We would like to thank Pat & Hershel for sharing their lovely home with us. Pat’s breakfasts were a delightful & delicious way to start out the day. We were able to unwind & enjoy the peace & quiet the secluded ranch had to offer. We really enjoyed our stay & plan on staying there again in the future!
Brandi October 2017
My husband and I wanted a quick overnight stay somewhere close, but remote. Sweetspire checked all the boxes! Great location, good breakfast and wonderful hospitality. Their farm is just gorgeous. Horse boarding on site, so beautiful horses with wildlife everywhere. We will definitely be going back!
Mike September 2017
We stayed at Sweetspire Ranch while visiting the Cincinnati area and it was better than we expected. The view outside our window was beautiful and I loved waking up watching the horses graze. On my list of “where to stay” Sweetspire Ranch exceeded all our needs clean, comfortable, spacious, right down to the quality of the linens and towels. You can tell they love what they do here. And if ever we visit the Cincinnati area again this is the place we will stay.
Jo September 2017
I cannot say enough about the happy experience I had staying at Sweetspire Ranch. As an international visitor doing flight training nearby, I had occasion to be there on an extended visit. The hospitality offered by Pat and Hearsel can not be beaten. The peaceful location of their ranch, the relaxed atmosphere and the beautiful surroundings, not to mention the comfortable and spotless accommodations made my stay so very memorable. … and I met some very interesting people there too. With years of experience in the boutique hotel industry I like to think I can recognize a gem and Sweetspire will be on my agenda if ever I return to Ohio.
Megan July 2017
What a true gem. The setting is just beautiful. Easy to find and close to so many fun things to do in the Cincinnati area. Pat is so gracious and accommodating. We truly enjoyed our stay. We will definitely return. You will definitely enjoy your stay.
Chelsea July 2017
My husband and I spent two nights here while visiting friends in the Cincinnati area. I hate to use the word “magical” because it sounds so cliché…but it was truly magical. A location off the beaten path, away from the hustle and bustle of nearby Eastgate, the ranch was a breath of fresh air and peace & quiet. Rolling fields, woods, ponds and horse pastures, plus a picturesque house and grounds gave us a chance to relax for the first time in a long time. The house is huge, with 4 different rooms to stay in. We had all we needed in our room: comfy bed, plenty of space, a nice shower. Everything was clean. Pat was a delightful hostess and an amazing cook (breakfast both mornings was to die for). You truly feel like you’re home while staying here. After breakfast, you can take your coffee out on one of the many porches and unwind on the swing. Oh, if you want to ride a horse, make sure to mention that when making your reservation. For the price we paid, we couldn’t have picked a better place to stay. We hope to return to the Cincinnati area, and when we do, we’ll be staying here at the ranch!
Mary July 2017
“The pictures do not do this place justice. You will love your stay. The land is beautiful and serene. The breakfast is lovely. The rooms are so cozy! I’m so glad I had the opportunity to stay here. ”
Alyssa July 2017
Really enjoyed our stay with Pat! She made a great breakfast and was completely accommodating. Even let us pet her horses! The home was very picturesque and relaxing. She supplied us a key to keep our room secure as she had other people renting other rooms, and also had a parking space for us. Really one of the best stays I’ve had on AirB&B.
Dan July 2017
Sweetspire Ranch is a true hidden gem. The hosts Pat and Hearsel will take good care of you. Always trying to do their best to make you feel like home. Pat makes great breakfasts that will suit everyone. Rooms are clean, spacious and have great internet connection. The property is well maintained with plenty of outdoor space to enjoy. But what real stunning is where this property is situated. The silence is just perfect. Only the birds singing, the whinnies of horses and the grunt of deer in the fields. This is not going to be my last visit.
Andy June 2017
We found this venue through our wedding rental company and we were looking for a venue with this style and setting. We were dumbstruck that this was even this close to the highways and hotels but still retains that “out in the country” feel. The experience was GREAT and we’re still getting compliments on how great and beautiful the setting for our wedding was. It was great having the entire BnB for the whole weekend with the ability for our guests to rent 2 of the 4 rooms (2 rooms are included for the weekend). We also woke up Sunday morning to coffee and a delicious breakfast that was served to us and our guests who stayed the night. The BnB is newly renovated and is super roomy ( the house is over 3,600 sq ft) so there is also room to have your rehearsal dinner on site which makes it really easy for those out of town guests. My wife and I and all of our guests couldn’t have been happier with how everything turned out, it was PERFECT!
My Sister had her wedding here on June 17th, 2017. Being a bridesmaid in her wedding I had full access to the whole venue which was so very big and beautiful!! The flowers, the horses, the land is simply breathtaking. We felt so at home getting ready at Sweetspire Ranch in the Bridal suite. The day was amazing, the place is beautiful and I highly recommend it for any type of wedding 🙂 Thank u for ur hospitality Sweetspire Ranch 🙂
Yolanda June 2017
I can’t get over the fact, this place is the owner’s home and the bedrooms have been converted for guests. The owners are very engaging, welcoming and warm. This B&B really feels like your home away from home. The 25 acres landscape is simply beautiful. You never realize you are just 30 minutes away from the city.
Nick June 2017
Pat’s place was an amazing refuge from a long trip on the road. A calm, quiet place to relax and recharge. We met a delightful local couple staying for their anniversary, and the breakfast dish that Pat prepared for us was simply amazing (can I have the recipe?) All this is to say that you can’t go wrong by choosing Sweetspire Ranch to spend a night (and morning!).
Rohany June 2017
Beautiful wedding and the place is very nice and country!
Shawn June 2017
Great house, the owners are very welcoming. Fresh chocolate chip in your room and breakfast was great. Great place for a weekend or small event.
Wendy June 2017
Wonderful place to stay! My friend and I booked through Airbnb and were thrilled with the room, cleanliness and hosts! We left early each morning, so bagels and muffins were packed for us! Very quiet and clean, will return and highly recommend!
Penny June 2017
This was my first time at an Airbnb. The home was beautiful and above expectations. Our hosts were welcoming and very friendly. I would highly recommend this Airbnb home to anyone wanting a nice, private, and beautiful experience. I would do this again in a heartbeat over staying in a traditional hotel!
Kaitlyn May 2017
We felt so lucky to find such a beautiful, tranquil B&B so close to the city! Pat was extraordinarily welcoming and attentive to our needs. The magnolia suite was spacious and impeccably clean, with an extremely comfortable bed. Breakfast was hearty and delicious. Can’t wait to return!
Chad May 2017
Pat’s home is excellent! If you are looking for a beautiful and quiet place to stay, this is for you. The room was very comfortable. Pat is a great communicator with guests. The breakfast she made was incredible. I highly suggest staying with Pat if you are in the Batavia area.
Marsha May 2017
If you’re looking for a place to get away from it all, yet near so many attractions in the Cincinnati/Northern KY area, Sweetspire Ranch is for you. Whether you go out and enjoy the sights during the day or have a night on the town, it’s so wonderful to return to this peaceful retreat! The hosts, are so down to earth, you can ‘t help but feel welcome. Loved the views of the horses grazing in the pasture and relaxing on the front porch swing! I’ll certainly return!
Tamara April 2017
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sweetspire Ranch with Pat. The property is breathtaking as you drive up, complete with open vistas, ponds, and horses waving their tails in the distance. A calm and friendly farm dog greets you as you enter. She seems to also be quite fond of ushering guests back and forth to their cars. The house is gorgeous and impeccably kept. I think this is the cleanest AirB&B I have stayed in. There were also fresh towels and hotel toiletries for us in the bathroom. Even though Pat had just had back surgery, she went out of her way to make sure we had a great stay. I would recommend Pat’s ranch highly to anyone wanting a relaxing stay in the countryside near Cincinnati. Very accessible to the city. Eastgate is nearby (within about a 5-10 minute drive) and has wonderful shops, including Jungle Jim’s, which I think everyone in the area should take the chance to visit. In summary, I can’t rave enough about Pat’s place or her as a hostess. Book without hesitation.
Stacy April 2017
A fabulous home and hostess. There’s beautiful land all around; horses, bunny rabbits, songbirds, galloping deer and Molly, the greeter dog. Comfy bed on brand new soft sheets. You can easily make the room hotter or colder and gorgeous views out every window. Mine was a work trip and only wish I had more time to read my book on their front porch swing or go for a trail ride. Next time! Fabulous stay, thank you Pat!
Tim April 2017
The communication with Pat before we got there was timely and adequate. We were looking for a place to quietly unwind after a week long meeting while traveling to the next one and Pat’s suite provided the privacy and seclusion we were looking for. Pat was very gracious and, while we just went to the room and ‘holed up’ we had the sense that she would have been very helpful had we needed anything. We would definitely stop there again if we were in the area.
Monette April 2017
This is such a beautiful place to visit and the hosts made me feel very welcomed in their home. This would be an amazing place for a wedding or special occasion. Perfect for runners – very close to trails and away from traffic.
Note to Pat: “Thank you so much for your hospitality and making me feel so welcome in your beautiful home. It was delightful to meet all of you and learn more about this part of the country. I sincerely hope to pass this way again.”
Julee April 2017
The house is on a beautiful lot in the country. The directions were good. I just was arriving late at night so I passed on my first try. Pat and her husband were very welcoming and pleasant, I look forward to staying there again.
Our stay with Pat both times has been pleasant. My hope is that the next time we stay we get there before it’s dark to actually see the beautiful ranch. Both times we’ve stayed, we got there in the dark and left before dawn and didn’t have the opportunity to enjoy the surroundings.
Note to Hearsel: “I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for helping us out when things didn’t work out with Grace and her housing with the team. Jeff and Grace loved the peace and the rooms–especially Jeff who enjoyed sitting and chatting with you.”
Jonathan March 2017
I had a fantastic time at Pat’s. I was visiting for a wedding and Pat did everything she could to make my stay comfortable and even gave me a lift into town. Deffo recommend this place. It is quite out of the way so fantastic if you are looking to get away from it all.
Mark February 2017
Great place! Would highly recommend. Pat and her husband were very accommodating.
Michael December 2016
“Perfect place to stay in Clermont County! Peaceful and spacious, clean and well maintained. Good place to get some quiet. Compared to the cookie cutter, crowded motels on the west side of Cincinnati (I’ve stayed in most of them) this was heaven. Pat was a fantastic host and I plan to stay again.”
Mary December 2016
Pat and Hearsel were fantastic. We drove in from Michigan and were going to be late, and that was ok with them. Their home is beautiful and open. The directions given to us got us right to the house. The room is large and comfortable with a nice bathroom and lots of hot water. The views of the deer and birds and horses are so much nicer than that of the back of a restaurant or city like you would get at a hotel. Pat went out of her way to give us some ideas to do on our day of play and also got up to make me oatmeal so I could have that before I ran a half marathon. They are fantastic people and I highly recommend staying here.
Susan November, 2016
Pat and Hearsel were wonderful hosts. Everything was as expected and more. Pat responded quickly to any questions I had before my trip, and made me feel welcome and at home from the moment I arrived. The views of the ranch from the room are gorgeous – I found myself lingering in the mornings just enjoying the peace and comfort there, and I slept well each night in the comfortable bed. I enjoyed seeing the deer and horses, and being greeted by their sweet dog, Molly, each morning and evening as I came and went. I look forward to the next time I’m in Cincinnati so I can stay there again.
Emily October, 2016
Beautiful house and very nice, large suite to stay in. Pat and her husband were pleasant to speak with, it was great to meet them and stay at their house. The surrounding property was very pretty. It was a little difficult to find the driveway because of a road closure and newish subdivision confusing the GPS, but other than that it was a great trip!
Ron October, 2016
Pat and Hearsel were such great hosts…they treated us like family. My wife and I felt right at home. The room was very nice and clean and the location was very peaceful and quiet. We were so glad that we were able to go horseback riding. We really enjoyed the time that we spent there and look forward to returning in the future! It was great getting to know both of you and thanks again for your hospitality.
